10 Step
Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning ProcessFree Pre-Inspection
The first step in our process is a precise in- home evaluation; it usually takes about 10 minutes. During this step it is critical to understand the composition and weave of the upholstered furniture. Generally furniture falls into two groups natural and synthetic, natural also includes natural blends. The fabric has to be magnified to understand the weave and some testing to determine the composition. This information is critical for shaping cleaning methodologies and providing realistic expected results for the customer.
Expectations and Price
Exceeding our customers’ expectations is our goal, and after determining the best cleaning plan, prices, packages and discounts are applied and the cleaning is scheduled at the customer’s convenience. We tell you the FULL price up front, no surprises. No high pressure sales tactics! You’ll know the exact amount before the work begins so you can decide.
Pre-Vacuum
Next a clean and polite uniformed cleaning professional will arrive at your residence on time and always respectfully calling if the service call is running late. We will identify ourselves and complete a quick walk through to identify any concerns that may not have been identified during the pre-inspection. The technician prepares the cleaning area by respectfully and carefully moving furniture pieces on to protective coverings and placing equipment to prevent damage to furnishings. The technician starts with removing most of the soil from your upholstered furniture by using a commercial vacuum, because most of the soils in your furniture are not easily dissolved with water or suspended with dry foam. Any items uncovered in the furniture will be placed in a courtesy dish.
Spot and Stain Removal
Our trained technician uses his training and skills to remove any stains that were identified during the pre-inspection. Spots and stains on upholstered furniture can be difficult to remove based on factors such as: soil composition, fabric weave and composition, how long it has been there, chemicals and methods used in previous attempts and the list goes on. I compare it to spilling coffee or wine on your 100% cotton blouse waiting a week and trying to clean it; in most cases the blouse is ruined. Although most spots and stains can be removed during the cleaning process, it is our policy to be honest and upfront with the customer about expectations.
Pre-Spray
Then a pre-spray is applied to the fabric. The pre spray is a safe, non toxic environmentally friendly solution that aids in loosening, suspending and emulsifying the oils and soils trapped in the weave and fibers. It may require agitation and time to work before removal or rinsing.
Hot Water Extraction or Dry Foam
In most instances a specifically designed upholstery tool that minimizes water usage is used. The soils are suspended in the solution and rinsed away using our HTDT (High Temperature Dry Time) system. In some circumstances a dry foam most be used, the dry foam is the safe alternative to dry cleaning with dangerous solvents and the expectations should be the same.
Fast Dry Time
One of the biggest areas of concerns with upholstery is drying. If the fabrics dry too slowly browning and even decomposition can occur. We will utilize industry proven techniques to dry your upholstered furniture.
Deodorizers
The customer can choose to have a deodorizer applied.
Upholstery Protectors
We recommend an upholstery and fabric protector to help in the prevention of re-soiling and staining.
Post Inspection
We perform a post inspection with the customer and look forward to serving you again. Once service has been performed our customers can enjoy a quarterly newsletter that serves to communicate important coupons as well as the fun stuff that Families enjoy.
